MCP connections

Audience: Tenant admin
Goal: Connect Edge Agents to remote MCP tool servers.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers extend agent capabilities with approved external tools (APIs, search, ticketing, and more).

Manage connections

  1. Open Integrations → MCP connections (/agents/mcp-connections).

  1. Click Create connection.
  2. Enter name, transport (SSE or Streamable HTTP), endpoint URL, and authentication.
  3. Assign the connection to an Edge Agent.
  4. Enable discovered tools selectively per connection.

Append ?connectionId=<id> to open a specific connection for editing.

Tips

  • Pilot MCP tools in a non-production tenant first.
  • Disable unused tools to reduce planner surface area.
  • Coordinate with security on outbound URLs from the Edge Agent network.
